After nearly twelve years with record label 19/Arista Nashville, Carrie Underwood is moving forward with a new deal signed with Capitol Records Nashville (also known as UMG Nashville).

Carrie will now be label mates with several major country artists, which include Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, and Little Big Town.

The move comes at a year that Underwood can celebrate twelve years in the music industry. Since winning the fourth season of American Idol in 2005, she signed with 19 and released her debut album Some Hearts through Arista. After Some Hearts became an overnight smash album, the rest has been history. Underwood now stands as American Idol's best-selling star and one of country music's most recognized names.

The new recording contract certainly entails new music from Carrie soon. Fresh off The Storyteller Tour, which sold out arenas around the world last year, Underwood has stated she is currently writing for her next album and discovering which direction she would like to take her career next.

Universal Music Group, of which Capitol Nashville is a division, is home to artists like Maroon 5, Selena Gomez, and Katy Perry.
